The 23rd thing!!!

Wow, I've done the 23 things, and the survey has been done as well, made it to the end. Actually it's a bit hard to do them after work, but it's quite enjoyable cos I've learnt a lot of new stuff such as RSS, image generators, LibraryThing, Wikis, tagging, Zoho writer, Podcast, etc. I think it's important for us library staff to keep the pace with the IT innovation so we can help our customers better. Anyway it is really a good learning experience. Many thanks to those who design this program. Keep an eye on the changing technology@@@

eBooks

I viewed the free eBook site Project Gutenburg, although eBook is not new to me, I found a lot of interesting books there. But it is not a way for me to read online -- my eyes will complain if I keep reading books on screen. It is still quite a nice solution when you can't find a book from either the book stores or the libraries.

Podcast

Podcast now is named the word of the year by New Oxford American Dictionary, which I have no idea about before:(
I tried both Podcastalley and Podcast, and I found Realtime Nexus Digital Library, it is the world's leading source of free, expert technology eBooks and guides. You can listen to industry experts on the technology tips, practices, e.g. today's IT professionals, very useful site. I will use the tool in the future to keep pace with the changing world.

YouTube, have fun!

YouTube, definetely the top video sharing webpage, which you can find whatever you want from. I tried search by "Library" and a lot of videos related to libraries came out.The video "Mr Bean in the library" made me laugh and laugh until my tummy was sour. These kinds of libraries are extremely rare nowadays, but yes they do still exist, maybe in Britain. Youtube might be a new tool to promote our library service.
Although the site is fantastic, you can come into with quite a lot of rubbish thers, I won't recommend YouTube to children.

Discovering Web 2.0 tools

For the Web 2.0 Awards nominees, one of my favorites is Im Cooked. I'm interested in cooking and baking, but honestly I'm not a good cooker:(, but it's enjoyable for me to read cooking books and watch cooking programs. Im cooked is an awesome web community for video recipe sharing , step by step. Heaps of fun. Watching it!

Some online productivity

I created a free account in Zoho Writer, I found it quite helpful if you don't want to carry a memory stick with you all the time. You can create your document at home and view or edit it by at work thru internet, and you can release your document to the public, sounds a bit like WiKi.
